Ian began his audit career at a Big Four audit firm before broadening his experience across several mid-tier audit and advisory firms. During his time in the advisory division of a mid-tier firm, he was involved in financial due diligence and share valuation. He also gained experience in the commercial sector as Regional Head of Accounting, overseeing accounting functions for both local and foreign operations as well as statutory and group reporting.

Ian was admitted as an Audit Partner at a mid-tier firm. Apart from his responsibilities as an Audit Partner, he also assumed the role of Head of Technical and Lead Inspection Coordinator, overseeing technical consultations, identifying and coordinating training needs, quality management, inspection, monitoring and remediation activities at both the firm and engagement level.

Ian has extensive experience in the audit of publicly listed entities on Bursa Malaysia and the Singapore Exchange (SGX), small and medium-sized enterprises, and non-profit organisations, spanning industries including technology and software development, shipping, retail, trading, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, construction, property development, logistics and investments holding.

He has also been involved in specialised engagements, including an audit of a Malaysia-based entity for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) that was successfully listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
